Ralph James

Ralph James is a veteran healthcare IT executive with 25+ years of progressive leadership experience, most recently as Managing Director of RJ & AJ Enterprises Inc, a California-certified small business he founded and scaled to over 400 state contracts totaling $4.7M+. He joins Launch as Small Business TA Program & Business Development Manager, bringing hands-on experience in procurement strategy, government contracting, and subcontractor relationship-building on public-sector projects.

Ralph previously served as Clinical Informatics Manager at UC Davis Medical Center, leading a cross-functional EHR team of up to 25 staff through complex system implementations, and earlier as an Epic Report Developer there, building reporting tools across Epic, Business Objects, and Crystal Reports. He also held systems and site-management roles at Sutter Health and Kaiser Permanente, and began his technology career as a programmer supporting the California Highway Patrol's Computer-Aided Dispatch systems.

Ralph is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served as a Non-Commissioned Officer with the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, where he earned a meritorious promotion for exceeding performance expectations. He holds a B.S. in Health Care Administration from California Coast University and Epic certifications in Cogito Radiant and Cupid.
