Sara Fifi is a Senior HR Consultant and Project Manager at Launch Industries, where she works with small businesses as their HR partner. She helps clients with employee handbooks and HR documentation, payroll and HR tool setup, compliance, and the everyday people questions that come up as a business grows. Sara is drawn to work with a clear social impact, and she came to Launch to help local businesses build workplaces that reflect their values.
Most recently, Sara was an onboarding and compliance manager at BCforward, a staffing firm, where she led a team of five offshore onboarding specialists. She made sure each consultant's onboarding paperwork, pay rate, and documents were correct and in the right systems before day one, and she ran I-9 compliance for those placements. Before that, she worked as an HR analyst with Harman Connected Services supporting Microsoft. There she troubleshot HR technology with in-house engineering, routed compensation questions to the right specialists, and partnered with marketing to rewrite and publish content for the Microsoft Careers website and employee handbook.
Earlier in her career, Sara built HR operations experience at GE's software development site in New Orleans, where she worked alongside an HR business partner on employee coaching and employee relations conversations. At a New Orleans charter school, she selected and implemented the school's first HRIS and trained every staff member on online benefits enrollment. She has also worked as a recruiter, partnering with hiring managers to build job offers and keep compensation consistent across teams.
Sara's degree is in creative writing, and she has since added technical writing to her toolkit, which shows in clear, practical handbooks, policies, and process documents. She enjoys compliance work and does her best work in operations, where careful systems keep people supported. Sara is based in Burien, Washington.
